Humantay Lagoon 1 day

The Salkantay snow-capped mountain (6271m) is one of the highest mountains in the Cusco region, along with the Ausangate snow-capped mountain in the Vilcanota mountain range which is located further south.

Humantay is a snow-covered mountain that is part of the Vilcabamba mountain range and gives rise to the formation of this splendid turquoise lagoon that is fed by the mountain’s glaciers and is a jewel of nature on the route of the Apu Salkantay.

The Humantay lagoon is located in the province of Anta, Cusco area and this is how the ancient city of Cusco surprises us again by presenting a new alternative for travelers who wish to enjoy nature and the natural landscape at the foot of a snow-covered surrounded by imposing glaciers, this walk is impressive, it is worth doing it since the landscapes are incredible and the bravest ones will even be able to take a bath in the icy waters of the lagoon.

Itinerary

DAY 1: CUSCO – MOLLEPATA
Very early in the morning, from 04.00am / 05.00am we will go to your hotels to pick you up, then we will begin our trip towards Mollepata, approximately 2 and a half hours, we will pass through some small towns, such as Izcuchaca and Limatambo, then we will arrive at Mollepata, where they will have a hot breakfast, for a period of 30 minutes.

MOLLEPATA- SORAYPAMPA / LAGUNA HUMANTAY
Then, we will continue with the trip in our transport, approximately 1 hour more we will arrive at SORAYPAMPA… and from here we will begin our walk towards the HUMANTAY lagoon… approximately 1 hour and a half, we will reach a height of 4220 m. s.n. m., where we will appreciate the impressive turquoise Humantay lagoon, as well as the Salkantay snow-capped mountain. The guide will give you an explanation of approximately 45 minutes. Likewise, you will have enough time to appreciate nature and take photos.

Then, we will return walking to Soraypampa
